🥾

Las Vegas is not typically known for it's nature and hiking but I'm here to tell you it is truly some of the best! It has desert vibes, unique rock formations, and awesome city views. Vegas has so much more to offer than the strip and sinning! 😉

I've done over 30 trails since living here for the last 9 months and I am ready to keep exploring!  Keep reading for my favorite hikes for the categories below.

Always remember..

Be prepared: Get there early, be safe, have enough water and food, carry a headlamp, and first aid kit.

Check the map & trail beforehand: If possible download the trail map before embarking on your adventure.

Leave no trace: Respect nature and pick up after yourself.

Best Las Vegas Views: Calico Tanks
Hike Length: 2.2 miles out and back
Intensity: 🔥🔥🔥/5
This is the only hike on my list that requires a reservation at Red Rock Canyon. Make your reservation with recreaton.gov before you go!  The hike is fairly easy to follow and it offers some awesome rock formations along the way. The best time to hike this trail is at sunset for some stunning views! This hike will require at least 2 hours of hiking plus more time for relaxing and enjoying the view.

Most Adventurous: Guardian Angel Pass
Hike Length: 4.1 miles
 Intensity: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥/5
This trail offers so much joy along the way! You will feel like a kid exploring the world for the first time. There are moments of walking through a slot canyon, then finding hidden gems (like this "spaceship"), as well as finding the elusive guardian angel! If you are attempting this trail, I highly recommend downloading the map, or using the All Trails "Navigate" function. If you follow the trail exactly without detours expect this trail to take a minimum of 3 hrs to complete. I prefer doing this trail clockwise, that way there is a slow elevation gain and then come down over the top of the hill quickly at the end!

Most Fun: Arizona Hot Springs
Hike Length: 5 miles
 Intensity: 🔥🔥🔥/5
I love this hike so much! The hot spring pools are HOT, deep, and cleaner than most! The trip to the pools isn't too bad and once I'm there I like to go between soaking in the hot springs and cold plunging into the Colorado River. I take the short trail there, so when you go under the freeway and walk about 1/2mile you will come to a sign that points left to the Hot Springs and right to Liberty Bell, GO LEFT!! The trail will be easy to follow and will take you right to the hot springs with little to no scrambling. Note: this trail is closed in the summer months due to the hot weather.

Most Beautiful: Eagle's Nest Loop
Hike Length: 2.7 miles
 Intensity: 🔥🔥/5
I chose this trail because it is so serene, the views of the valley surrounded by mountains are so beautiful. Eagles Nest has amazing views, wildflowers, trees, everything you wouldn't expect to find in Vegas! This trail is not one that is super popular and I never really hear of people going on this trail compared to the popular waterfall and peaks in the area but it is so worth checking out!

Best Quickie: North Oak Creek
Hike Length 3.4 miles
 Intensity: 🔥/5
This hike is high reward low effort. It offers beautiful views and even wildlife sightings. I have done this hike 3 times during sunset hours and EVERY SINGLE TIME I have seen mule deer herds. They are like deer with adorable round ears. It is close to town, you park right at the beginning of the trail. It is out and back, so you can hike for as little or as much as you want, but I highly recommend making it the entire 1.7 miles. At the end of the trail you should be at the base of the mountain you can explore the dry creek bed or have a picnic before making your way back!
